The Best Barbershop Harmony Quartets & Choruses from Illinois Compete for Top Honors

Saturday, September 28 thrill to the iconic, classic sounds of barbershop harmony! There are two great events. At noon, thrill to choruses from all over Illinois as they compete for the state championship and the right to represent Illinois at next year’s International Contest for the Barbershop Harmony Society. Then at 6:30 p.m., experience the quartet finalists as they, too, compete to see which foursome is the best in the state and which quartets qualify for the international contest.

Last fall, the Sound of Illinois from right here in Bloomington won the right to compete at the 2024 International Contest, where they represented us well with A-level scores. Who will win top honors this year? 

Last September, Linc 182 took home the gold and Lincoln Beutel became the youngest international qualifier in the history of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Find out who this years’ state champ will be on 9/28.

EVENT 1:

Illinois Barbershop Chorus Championship & International Prelims.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Choruses from across Illinois compete for the championship of the Illinois District of the Barbershop Harmony Society. You’ll experience tight-knit harmonies, joy & laughter, touching moments, and four-part barbershop-style performances that’ll raise your spirits.

EVENT 2:

Illinois Barbershop Quartet Championship & International Prelims

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Quartets compete for Illinois top honors and the chance to qualify for the Barbershop Harmony Society’s International Quartet Contest next summer. You’ll hear lots of ringing chords, heartfelt ballads, peppy uptunes, comedic moments, and inspirational performances galore.
